Ian,

I don’t know if being an agent can be helpful to you particularly… but I highly recommend you to take the course.

go to your local library or bookstore to borrow a book if you don’t want to spend the money

there are some pros and cons of being an agent, you will know when you finish the whole course, but also keep in mind there’s an universe of creative financing available.

good luck

Hi everyone,
Just a quick request for some of your wisdom: Would becoming a real estate agent be a good idea, while investing?
I am 20 years of age, and I am finishing a carpentry apprenticeship. Upon completion of the apprenticeship, I will be changing careers, and not able to become an investor full-time.
My thoughts on becoming a real estate agent are:

-lucrative business in hot markets (and decent income if not a hot market)
-becoming completely immersed into real estate.
-higher volume of property being viewed, with the potential for finding more “better” deals.
-a potential for owning an office under a “franchise” (ie. Re/max, Century 21, Royal Lepage)
Much appreciation,
Ian
