If you find out this is true, it would be best to contact the attorney that is handeling the BK. They will contact the courts to find out exactly what can be done with it if anything. Alot of times the courts are not going to let the seller give it away if there is any equity in it. You may get it a slight bargin but I don’t think you will be able to steal it. This has been my experiance with this type of situation.

Just located an empty 2 unit. I was told by neighbors the owner filed for bankruptcy. I’m going to the courthouse tomorrow to do my research, but then what? I’ve never dealt with a BK before and have no idea what to do after contacting the owner.
