After the Option time is up... - Posted by Marilyn

I don’t believe they are obligated to remove the description of the home from the website until after the sale actually closes. The last home I purchased (this past March) I asked the realtor to remove the for sale sign from the property and she said she found it to be bad luck. She never removed the sign until after the closing papers were signed, although she did list the home on the website as under contract. Potential purchasers have a right to know that the house they are viewing is under contract.

We had one home that we were selling and the agent kept it on her website several months after her contract had expired. I finally told her to remove it from her website because she was no longer our agent.

After the Option time is up and all parties have agreed on price, etc. of the house, can the seller’s realtor legally still have the house for sale with full description of the house for sale on the website? Is there a time limit they can still show the house on the MLS?
