I just use a spreadsheet that I first wrote 15 years ago for an Amiga spreadsheet, then later ported to Excel. It computes everything “brute force”. You can put in what you actually paid for each month you have had the loan, and can see as a result when the loan is paid off.

I use a Texas Instruments BAII Plus and it works fine for me. I know some folks love their HPs though. You may want to check in at the Notes section of this site to see what they think:
